My NFL pro day/combine prep dynamic stretching routine

Published: Sun, 03/03/24

Let's take a trip down memory lane to 2004.

I was gearing up for pro days at my college - this is when NFL scouts come out to put you through the wringer with tests like the 40-yard dash, 225 pound bench press for reps, vertical jump, shuttle drills, and loads more.

My fingers were also crossed hoping for an invite to the NFL combine. Here, you go through a similar grind, but on a much bigger platform!

(As I'm typing out this email to you, the combine's actually unfolding right now over this weekend)

So my agent shipped me off to a training center in the NorCal Bay Area to get ready. Our routine was basically train all day long! Speed work and agility in the morning, lift later in the day – prime goal being getting into top-notch shape.

One consistent part of our morning ritual was dynamic stretching – pretty similar to what’s included in the Metabolic Stretching program I've been talking about recently.

Now get this– after spending YEARS doing static stretch-and-hold type sessions before every baseball, basketball, football, and track practice (which never really seemed to help) - THIS dynamic stretching routine turned out be my golden ticket towards nailing better movement.

Plus, in the 15-20 minute dynamic routine we'd do every morning, you'd work up quite the sweat!

That's why I highly recommend this:

-> Metabolic Stretching

You probably aren't getting ready to play a sport at the professional level, but the dynamic stretching routine I used back in those days is one thing that I think can help almost anyone.

Check it out, and here's to your success!
