Ramon Dekkers "Kickboxer Abs" secrets [pic inside]

Ramon "The Diamond" Dekkers was a Dutch kickboxer and an eight time Muay Thai world champion.

He - and really, most all high-level kickboxers - have CRAZY strong, lean, and functional midsections.

If we want the same - and who wouldn't, right? ;) - we should look at their ab training methods.

You see, a typical abdominal workout involves movements that only work the abdominal area in one motion, and does not effectively engage all the muscles in the abdominal area.

In addition, research by Dr. Stuart McGill has shown that sit ups or any type of concentric motion (Sit-Ups) or “shortening” of the abdominal area is an ineffective way to engage the abs.

Beyond this, these movements cause serious risks to your lower back by apply unnecessary compressive forces to your vertebrae.

Instead, his research has shown that the best way to train your abdominal area is through isometric or stabilization movements.

In fact, the abdominal muscles are designed for stabilization and twisting motions, and not a forward bending motion (like in a sit up).

This is probably a reason why kickboxers have such incredible midsections.

They incorporate shadowboxing into their daily workouts, and the “torsion” movement of shadowboxing can end up activating the core in a much more effective manner

Therefore, by performing shadowboxing combined with different isometric balancing core movement, you can effectively activate your core and get an amazing workout!
