2 things I did to lose 11 pounds in 8 weeks without dieting

I want to tell you a story about when I was in football training camp.
See, we’d go into camp right around this time of year – end of July / beginning of August.
And for three to four weeks, we trained HARD.
We’d be out in the heat, practicing a good four to five hours per day.
Plus, most days we’d also lift or “condition” for another 30-60 minutes.
The calorie burn from the practices and lifting and conditioning and everything else was easily in the thousands per day.
And guess what?
It was impossible to keep weight ON.
I’d lose around 10 pounds every training camp, in three to four weeks.
Even though we had training table at lunch and dinner every day – with unlimited food! – meat, pasta, rice, veggies, desert – you name it, I ate it – I still couldn’t keep up.
I was actually TRYING to keep weight on, and I couldn’t do it.
The same happened to many of the other players.
So when people say you can’t lose weight without dieting – I say, not true
If you do enough physical activity and burn enough calories, you CAN lose weight without dieting.
And actually, it’s not just limited to 18-22 year old players.
You see it in adult endurance athletes as well, who are doing high volumes of training.
Recently, I lost 11 pounds in about 8 weeks, as I have ramped up physical activity in preparing for an extreme endurance event at the end of September I am competing in – without changing my diet or really even trying.
The two things I did to make this happen were:
1 – Significantly ramp up the amount of volume and training time I was doing per week
2 – Kept my diet the same (i.e. – I consciously ate the same amounts / portions .. in other words, I didn’t eat MORE than I was before to account for the added training volume)
And that’s how I came up with the idea for HIIT Extreme.
