[pic] "Modern-Day Spartan" Body... with Kettlebells?
Published: Wed, 03/10/21
As you well know, the ferocity, fighting power, and athleticism of a Spartan warrior is stuff of legend.
A single Spartan Warrior at the time was considered to be worth “several men of any other state.”
The move "300" was all about how 300 Spartan Warriors managed to face off against thousands of Persians, and humiliate those armies with their superior combat skills.
So, what do we know about how these warriors trained? And how can we apply it to the modern day?
There are not a lot of sources that document their actual training programs. But we do have some. From the few I've seen - including Plutarch’s Life of Philopoimen and Aristotle’s Politics - we can draw a few conclusions:
1 - Spartans did not train to build large muscle. Instead they needed functional, usable strength and endurance.
2 - Spartans trained for agility and athleticism that could be used in battle. They were not interested in pretty-looking bodies that could not perform in the real world.
3 - Psychological and physical resilience was also a priority. They needed to have tough minds, so that they could conquer their opponents.
All sounds good, right? How would you like to get all of this from your training?
Good news - you CAN!
However, the problem with most modern-day training programs, is that they actually do the OPPOSITE. They train to help you get bigger muscles, but you can't actually use them well. Or, they focus on one aspect - like endurance for example - but neglect others, like core strength and agility.
The good news is, the kettlebell is the perfect tool to use if you want to train, feel, and look like a Spartan. You will get all-around fitness that can be used every day. You will bullet-proof your body. And you will build the mental toughness to go along with it.
That's why I'm excited to announce the "300" Kettlebell Challenge 2.0. Click here for more info and to reserve your spot now.
