6 Tricks to Stick to Your Workouts

Published: Mon, 04/03/17

The hardest part of a workout program is often sticking to it.

It’s easy to get fired up for the first week or two of a new routine .. but staying with it for the long haul is what gets you to your ultimate fitness goals.

Here are 6 tricks to help stick to your workouts once and for all – and to get the results you know you deserve:

1 – Have a specific training goal

This could be signing up for and working towards something like the CORE Kettlebell Workshop. It could be signing up for and working towards an obstacle course race. Or even booking a photo shoot on a specific date, and making sure you are in top shape going into it. Having a specific training goal can be a HUGE motivation to keep you working hard.

2 – Share your goals

Sharing your workout plans with friends or family before they happen can be big motivation. Using social media for this can be a great and easy way to do it. It helps keep you accountable, and your friends will often chime in with some support as well. It could be just what you need to get going for the day!

3 – Sleep in your workout clothes

This might sound strange, but some of my clients swear by sleeping in their workout clothes when they are trying to get their workouts going early in the morning, but are having a hard time making it happen. This way, if you skip your workout, you have to actually take your workout clothes off, and admit that you’re letting yourself down.

4 – Put money on the line

Many of my long-time clients freely admit that paying me every month is huge motivation in itself to keep them going. They have $$ on the line and it helps them take their training seriously – and get the best possible results. This is a huge personal motivation for me as well – if I PAY for a course or a coaching program, I ALWAYS take it more seriously, and get better results from it.

5 – Keep the end in mind

This one might be a little morbid for some .. but personally it keeps me HIGHLY motivated to make sure health is a top priority. Go to http://www.deathclock.com/. Enter in your date of birth, sex, BMI and smoking status. You’ll get a countdown timer – to the second – that shows you how long you have left to live.

(If your BMI is over 25, you can plug in a lower number to see how it affects your life expectancy – which also can be very powerful.)

6 – Hire a coach

Hiring a professional to help you work towards your goals is invaluable. I am not just saying this for personal gain – I have coach(es) in MY life for every aspect that I’m trying to improve upon. It’s just SO much easier and faster and better to get someone who has accomplished what you want to achieve to show you the quickest path. And not only can they help you avoid mistakes, they can also give you feedback that is simply invaluable.

That’s it for your 6 tricks to stick to your workouts. Implement these if you are having a hard time keeping going with your training plan. And would love to hear from you if they are of help!

If you feel that you need the accountability and help to get your results, I am opening up 7 spots in my distance coaching program this week for new clients.

This is for people who want a program that SPECIFICALLY fits their goals and fitness level, and their lifestyle.

It is also for people who want added access and coaching and feedback from me, beyond what one of my standard online courses provides.

To start, I get to know your story. What’s worked for you in the past, what hasn’t, what matters to you, and more.

Then I create a new program for you each month, that’s 100% tailored to YOU.

You track your workouts using my special online training portal, so that I can see your progress each day. You get unlimited email support. Unlimited video form checks. A monthly accountability coaching call. Access to my full product library during our time together. And much more ..

.. BUT .. I only do this a few times each year, when spots open up, because I only work with 10 distance coaching clients at any given time. So if you want to jump on this opportunity, send me an email, with ELITE KB COACHING in the subject line, and I’ll take it from there.
